We took this photo in High Noon sunshine, and what you see is what you get. The exact color of light you will get will vary with the voltage applied; if you have low voltage, it will be warmer and with higher voltage (typical here in Alabama) it will appear cooler. We can not promise that you will like it; since it is labeled by the maker as purple, that is how we label it, as to do otherwise would be false advertising. We can not, therefore, promise that everyone will like this shade of purple, and we only allow returns for defective product (dead bulbs). It is incredibly difficult to find any shade of purple at all, and this is the best we can do, this one is "uniform" in matching shape of our other Christmas bulbs; but, it is unique, and not one of our Mix & Match colors. We just can not put ourselves in the position of arguing the semantics of the word purple, or the color purple. This has been very popular with folks down South, we have sold hundreds over the last 6 years. Here is hoping that you will understand our difficulty in this matter of taste in color, finding different shades, and the impossibility of pleasing everyone.
In addition, we frequently get the question, "does this bulb give purple light" or "will this turn the room purple" and so on.
This is only a 25 watt incandescent bulb; it gives incandescent light, and the glass is tinted purple to make it appear purple. It is not powerful enough
to do anything that any other incandescent regular bulb does. If you need pure purple light, without any other part of the spectrum in it,  you must buy an LED bulb.
